Background summary
- To systematically determine metabolic adverse affects of RA patients, who (chronically) use GCs in order to reduce disease activity, compared to RA patients who don’t use GCs.
- To study the relation between disease activity, treatment, and metabolic syndrome / insulin resistance.
Study objective
What is the relation between disease activity, treatment, and metabolic syndrome / insulin resistance.
Intervention
1. Oral Glucose Tolerance Test (OGTT).
2. X-rays of hand, feet, lungs and spinal cord.
3. Electrocardiogram (ECG).
