Does self monitoring of the ECG by the patient contribute to the correct diagnosis, reduce the frequency of cardiology consultations and lead to less side effects and lower dosage of medication, such as beta blockers and Class 3 arithmetic’s?
• Do patients become more confident and gain more insight into their own performance?
• Have patients easily mastered the technique?

PILOT TRIAL OF 20 ARRHYTHMIA PATIENTS USING AN IpHONE with an ALIVECOR HEARTMONITOR and APP TO MAKE ECG's at home
Study objective
Self monitoring of the ECG by the patient contributes to the correct diagnosis, reduces the frequency of cardiology consultations and leads to less side effects and lower dosage of medication.
Patients become more confident and gain more insight into their own performance.
Patients can easily master the technique used.
Study design
period of registration at home: 3 weeks
Intervention
selfmonitoring of ecg at home usingd the AliveCor Heart Monitor, a new technology in which a ECG computer chip and sensors are integrated in the case of an iPhone.

Inclusion criteria
Patients with a history referring to a possible arrhythmia, not or incompletely recorded in prior examinations and patients using a potent arrhythmogenic drug.
Exclusion criteria
patients not able to work with a smartphone, even after ample instruction.
