Primary outcome
Decrease of disruptive behavior.
Secondary outcome
Effect of interventions on development of anxiety, depression and victimization.
Background summary
47 school classes in the Netherlands are included. Children from these school classes receive:
1) The GBG at school during two years, or
2) The GBG at school, the parents receive a parent training (Opvoeden&Zo), or
3) not the GBG or the parent training Opvoeden&Zo
Study objective
The two tested interventions (Good Behavior Game and parent management training) will cause a decrease in aggression, victimization, disruptive behavior, anxiety and depression in elementary school children.
Intervention
The Good Behavior Game is a universal classroom intervention developed for the prevention of disruptive behavior and the promotion of pro-social behavior. Children in elementary school classes receive the GBG several times a week during two school years.
Opvoeden&Zo is a universal parent management training. Parents receive the training once during 6 sessions of 2 hours.
Children in the control condition do not receive an intervention

Inclusion criteria
The Good Behavior Game and the parent management training Opvoeden&Zo are universal preventive interventions. Therefore, there are no inclusion or exclusion criteria.
