Inclusion criteria
1. Patients with intermittent claudication determined with an EAI of <0.9 of <0.15 decrease after exercise;
2. Initial maximal walking distance <500m;
3. Age + gender matched control group of healty volunteers.
Exclusion criteria
Comorbidity which could influence the walking distance, for instance:
1. COPD Gold 3-4;
2. Heart failure (NYAH 2 or more);
3. Severe artrosis;
4. Amputation;
5. Walking aids.
For the control group there should be no history of peripheral arterial disease besides the above mentioned criteria.
