Background summary
The FUPEC study is an open cohort study studying long-term cardiovascular follow-up in women who had severe pre-eclampsia (according to the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists 2002 criteria) who attended the FUPEC clinic. Data collecion includes clinical information about medical and obstetric history, questionnaires, cardiovascular risk factors, cardiovascular health score metrics imaging of subclinical atherosclerosis and cardiovascular events and biological samples. The aim of the study is that results derived from the FUPEC study will be implemented in health care practice to optimize cardiovascualr prevention with the utlitmate goal to reduce cardiovascular disease in women who experienced pre-eclampsia in pregnancy.
Study objective
Early cardiovascular risk management focsussed on cardiovascular health can prevent cardiovascular disease in women who had severe pre-eclampsia
Study design
6 weeks, 3 months, 1 year, 3,5,7,9 etc years postpartum
Inclusion criteria
History of severe pre-eclampsia, age >17 and <51 years
