Secondary outcome
Also measures about quality of life, coping and emotional functioning will be

Background summary
A range of consequences excist after acquired brain injur (ABI). Participants
with en mild form of ABI up until did mostly not received the treatment they
needed. However a new form of cognitive rehabilitation has been developed. This
form of treatment has not been evaluated yet.
Study objective
In this research the effect of a cognitive rehabilitation program will be
evaluated. The effect will be defined in terms of increase of quality of life,
decrease of emotional complaints, increase in participation in society and
better coping of the consequences of ABI.
Study design
Amendement II: This study will be a pre-post test design with a double
baseline, for the participants admited to SRL. Amendement I: The participants
admitted to Blixembosch there will be no double baseline.
Intervention
In this study participants receive the intervention Cognitive rehabilitation
program. In this program information about brain injury and its consequences is
given to the participants. It is a group intervention and as such participants
can communicate with each other about the consequences of the brain injury.
Participants learn how to use strategies to cope better with their problems.
Study burden and risks
In this study there is no risk for the participants

Inclusion criteria
Age older then 18; acquired brain damage at least 3 months earlier; cognitive and or emotional problems due to brain injury; enough insight into the problems
Exclusion criteria
severe psychiatric disorder or too severe handicap due to brain injury; to severe cognitive, emotional or communicative problems due to brain injury; other goals than posed by the cognitive rehabilitation program
