Outcome measures
Primary outcome
Changes in painintensity and activity level.
Secondary outcome
Changed active mobility(physiological neck movments) and Cervicocephalic
kinesthetic Sensibility(CKS) of the craniocervicale region.
Background summary
Manual therapy has may have a bad outcome in one experimental group of patients
with long term neckproblems . Craniomandibular dysfunction may maintain these
complains. In this study craniomandibular region as additional treatment is
compared with continuing of manual therapy
Study objective
Recording if treatment of the craniomandibular region influences the sample of
patients with long term neck complaints.
Study design
Randomized clinical Trial(RCT),single-blind controlled.
Intervention
Group a will be treated with manual therapy and exercises of the
craniomandibular region. Group b continues with manual treatment of the
craniocervical region.
Study burden and risks
The measures are not painfull test which includes 2 questionnaires, measure of
the mouthopening, joint clicking, measurent of the triggerpoints of the chewing
muscles, physiological movements of the neck and Cervicocephalic kinesthetic
Sensibility(CKS)
Risks: Increasing of symptoms by stopping the craniocervical region of by
treating the craniomandibular region. A plan which to follow is suggested(see
protocol)
