Background summary
The prevalence of cancer is rising. The increasing incidence of cancer in
general, the aging of the population, and more effective treatment all
contribute to this rapid increase. The effects of treatments is becoming more
important as patients live longer after diagnosis. The objective of this study
is to measure quality of life, health care use and morbidity (like fatigue,
anxiety and depression) of patients diagnosed at least 2 years ago. These
variables will be compared between the different treatment modalities but will
also be compared between our study population and the Dutch population.

Study design
Medical specialists will send their (former) patients a letter to inform them
about the study and a copy of the questionnaire. The letter will explained that
by returning the completed questionnaire, the patient agrees to participate and
consents with linkage of the outcome of the questionnaire with their disease
history as registered in the ECR. If the questionnaire is not returned within
two months, a reminder letter with an additional copy of the questionnaire will
be send.
Study burden and risks
The nature and extent of this study does not form a risk for the participating
patients.
