Primary outcome
Echocardiographic parameters of systolic and diastolic function.

Background summary
Cardiovascular diseases occur more frequently in patients with CS. Other rare
hormone excess syndromes, like acromegaly and prolactinoma, have been
associated with cardiac abnormalities. In untreated CS, anecdotal reports
indicate that a cardiomyopathy is not uncommon. The effect of treatment of CS
on cardiac function remains to be established.
Study objective
To document cardiac function before and after treatment of CS.
Study design
Open, observational, prospective study in 16 patients with CS.
Study burden and risks
3 x ultrasounds of the heart (45 minutes each). There are no known long-term
adverse events of echocardiography.
