Outcome measures
Primary outcome
Primary study parameter is the amount of directional changes in movement
acceleration of the head during four flexion/extension sequences.
Secondary outcome
The secondary parameter is the outcome on the TAMPA Scale for Kinesiophobia.
Background summary
Although widely accepted in physiotherapy practice there is a dearth of
evidence indicating that aberrant movement of the cervical spine is a clinical
feature in chronic whiplash patients.
Study objective
This study aims to investigate differences in spatiotemporal properties of the
active movements in of the cervical spine in the sagittal plane in chronic WAD
patients and healthy controls.
Study design
A comparative observational study.
Study burden and risks
No extra risks are associated with participation.
