Outcome measures
Primary outcome
Intraclass correlation coefficient of bowel wall thickness
Secondary outcome
Kappa value for other ultrasound parameters
Background summary
In ulcerative colitis (UC) ultrasonography is an excellent modality to evaluate disease activity since it is harmless, cheap and easy to perform and interpret. In addition it correlates well with endoscopy and other imaging modalities.
Although ultrasonography in UC is currently widely practiced, observer agreement remains unclear. Since ultrasonography is receiving increasing attention it is important to evaluate observer agreement and standardize scoring of disease activity.
Study objective
Good Inter-observer agreement for important markers such as bowel wall thickness and Doppler activity
