Background summary
Recent data showed that hospitalized, older patients who were well-nourished upon hospital admisstion, do not consume sufficient energy and protein. In the present study we will assess the macronutrient composition of hospital meals in malnourished patients. During 6 months we will weigh and record all meals and snacks, provided and consumed in a hospital ward.
Study objective
Food provision does not match food consumption.
The amount of protein in consumed hospital meals is below current protein requirements.
Study design
Day 1-7 of hospitalization: all meals and snacks will be weighed and recorded
(day 0 = day of admission)
