Outcome measures
Primary outcome
Amount of daily physical activity (measured using questionnaire and Activ8)
Secondary outcome
Bio-, psycho- and social health (f.i. 6 minute walk test, Berg Balance Scale, social participation, health related quality of life)
Background summary
Physically disabled people are less physically active compared to healthy people. Existing physical activity interventions are limited in reach, since they are primarily rehabilitation- or school based. The current study aims to develop, implement and evaluate a community-based intervention for stimulating physical activity (PA) in hard-to-reach physically disabled people.
Study design
0, 2, 4, 6 and 12 months after the start of the intervention (individual timepoints).
Intervention
The adapted intervention Activity Coach+ (Beweegcoach+) includes personal coaching to stimulate organized physical activity, non-organized physical activity, and physical activity during ADL. Counseling will be provided throughout one year.
