Brief title
Health condition
HIV patients using HAART, in these patients we register pereferal arterial stiffness by measuring pulse wave velocity.

Intervention
Outcome measures
Primary outcome
Increase in pulse wave velocity.
Secondary outcome
Increased velocity (thus increased stiffness) related to glucose, lipidspectrum and inflammation parameters?
Background summary
N/A
Study objective
HIV infected patients receiving HAART have an increased risk for cardiac events/disease. In HAART naive patients increased arterial stiffness is substrate for this higher risk. In this study we investigate whether increased risk for cardiac events in HAART using patients is also (partly) due to an increase in arterial stiffness.
Study design

Intervention
Periferal arterial pulsewave velocity registration, non invasive.
Additional bloodanalyses, taken from patient at time of routine perferal blood draw pre visit outpatient clinic.
