Background summary
In this observational study which started in march 2013, we investigate the relationship between the cognitive functioning and motor function. We include geriatric patients who are diagnosed with a cognitive disorder. These patients underwent cognitive tests to check on their cognitive functioning. These results are used to check whether there is a connection between the motor function of these patients and the results of the cognitive tests. Or, is it true that patients with a lower result at the, for example, MMSE also have lower scores at the motor tests? Besides this primary target we examine the relationship between cognitive functioning and sarcopenia.
Study objective
We believe that there is a link between a decrease in cognitive functioning and motor function and sarcopenia.

Inclusion criteria
- geriatric patients at the Orbis Medical Centre.
- patients that fit the CBO guidelines for having a cognitive disorder.
Exclusion criteria
- patient can not be instructed because of the level of cognitive functioning.
- decreased motor function because of an amputation, fracture, arthritis or a paralysis.
- patient is in a terminal condition.
- patient has a pacemaker or ICD.
- patient did not sign a informed consent.
