Background summary
Feasibility analysis of the secondary fall prevention interventions resulting from the fall analysis according to the Dutch guideline 'Preventie van valincidenten bij ouderen (Prevention of fall incidents in the elderly). In doing so, attention will be paid to the feasibility of the procedural, organizational and social aspects and the reasonably expected results of 'project draaideur'.
Participants; patients in the AUMC location VUmc and the BovenIJ hospital. The participant will receive an information folder and will be approached twice by telephone for the completion of a questionnaire (<24 hours after SEH presentation and after 3 months).
Participating patients at the AUMC location VUmc will, in addition to receiving an information leaflet and telephone questionnaires, be screened in accordance with the guideline Prevention of fall incidents in the elderly. The resulting interventions will be implemented in the following weeks.
Population: eldery (70+) presenting emergency deparment after fall related injury.

Intervention

Inclusion criteria
- 70 years or older
- Living (Semi) independently (in a sheltered home, completely independently)
- Presented at SEH with a fall-related complaint
- (in the VUmc) to be linked to a trained professional (i.e. living in the vicinity of a trained primary care provider, insured for the required care or willing to pay for this yourself)
Exclusion criteria
- Admission to a hospital or other healthcare institution
- Restrictive injury
- Unable to give informed consent
- Insufficient command of the Dutch or English language
- Patients who already participate in a fall prevention project Admitted to a care institution (i.e. rehabilitation clinic, care home)
- Patients living outside the Amsterdam region
