Directly after conversation with the oncologic specialist about treatment plan
For the intervention group also after four weeks, three months and six months.
Intervention
Conversation with the general practitioner with use of the OPT (outcome prioritization tool). This conversation takes place between diagnosis and conversation with the oncologic specialist about treatment plan.
Inclusion criteria
- 70 years or older
- New treatment decision for non-curative malignancy (16-okt-2018)
Patients with high suspicion on non-curative malignancy (for example based on CT-scan but not yet proven by pathologic biopsy) can be included.
Exclusion criteria
- Terminal disease (life expectancy < 3 months)
- Not able to fill in the questionnaires (due to inadequate proficiency or due to cognitive problems)
- Hematologic malignancy
- Severe psychiatric disease
Previous treatment with curative intent for the same malignancy is no exclusion criteria.
