Intervention
Outcome measures
Primary outcome
1. Difference in cardiac output during selected timepoints.
2. Validity of non-invasive and invasive measurements.
Secondary outcome
Errors of the systems.
Background summary
The study is designed to elucidate the differences in cardiac output measurements between three different techniques in elective cardiac bypass surgery.
Study objective
To study the minimal difference between the non-invasive and invasive different techniques.
Correlation between short and long catheters for cardiac output measurement.
Study design
To = Basis CO post-induction, pre-incision, horizontal tafelposition;
T1 = 3 min after opening of the sternum;
T2 = After heparine before ECC;
T3 = 10 min after protamine post-ECC;
T4 = After closure of the sternum;
T5 = End intervention, after skin closure, pre-transport.
Intervention
Repeated simultaneous cardiac output measurements with three techniques (Ecom, Nexfin and Swan-Ganz) using short and long arterial radial catheters.
