Brief title
Health condition
This study is to study prospectively the incidence of B.pertussis infection in pregnant women in the Groene Hart Hospital in Gouda, the Netherlands. Therefore bloodsamples will be taken from the mother at 12 weeks gestation, at delivery and 2 months after delivery. Also cord blood will be collected at delivery. In these blood samples IgG against pertussis toxin and IgA against whole cell B.pertussis will be measured (RIVM). Also the mothers will be asked to fill in questionaires.

1. Positive B.pertussis serology;

Inventarisation of incidence of B.pertussis infection in pregnancy.
Study objective
About 6% of the population between 3 and 79 years suffers each year of a B.pertussis infection, also pregnant women. These women are a source of infection for their newborn babies.

Inclusion criteria
All pregnant women delivering at the department of gynecology and obstetrics of the Groene Hart Hospital.
