Primary outcome
DBPCFC with hazelnut before immunotherapy with birch pollen and after 1 year.
Secondary outcome
Skin prick tests and serological analyses.
Background summary
The effect of birch pollen immunotherapy on cross reactive food allergies is controversial. In this study the effect of birch pollen immunotherapy on hazelnut allergy is investigated with DBPCFC and skin prick tests as monitoring tools.
Study objective
The severity of hazelnut allergy will decrease as an additional effect by birch pollen immunotherapy.

Inclusion criteria
Patients >18 years with birch pollen allergy and hazelnut allergy.
Exclusion criteria
1. Pregnancy;
2. significant concurrent disease;
3. instable asthma;
4. oral medication with corticosteroids or b-blocking agents.
