Intervention
Outcome measures
Primary outcome
Levels of agreement between HowRwe total scores and EUROPEP mean scores.
Secondary outcome
1. Levels of agreement between HowRwe score per item & corresponding EUROPEP mean score per subgroup.
2. Levels of agreement between HowRwe score per item & EUROPEP mean score.
Background summary
The HowRwe is a short questionnaire which aims to measure patient experience. Until now the more laborious EUROPEP questionnaire has been used for this purpose in GP practices. We aim to establish the relation between HowRwe and EUROPEP outcomes. Furthermore we will determine whether the HowRwe can predict the EUROPEP outcome. This could provide possibilities in measuring patient experience more easily and consequently improve healthcare in Dutch GP practices.
Study objective
The aim of this study is to assess the predictive value of the HowRwe questionnaire in relation to the EUROPEP questionnaire by analyzing scores acquired in Dutch GP practices. We expect that high HowRwe scores are associated with an positive EUROPEP outcome.
Study design
Data were collected in one measurement point for each patient. HowRwe and EUROPEP outcomes were collected from the first population in the period from February to May 2013. The data from the second population was gathered between July 2014 and May 2015.
Intervention
Cross-sectional design. Patients were asked to fill in the HowRwe and EUROPEP questionnaires after consulting the GP.

Inclusion criteria

For the current study we will use two populations:
1. Population A: 90 Patients from two GP practices in Zwolle. Of these patients, 31 had DM and 10 had COPD. Patients were asked to fill out both the HowRwe and EUROPEP questionnaires. The patients were non-randomly selected to pursue a more normal distribution of the HowRwe scores.
2. Population B: 1925 Patients with DM or COPD filled out both questionnaires as part of a quality assessment in the Zwolle, Hardenberg and Flevoland region, performed by Medrie (an organization which facilitates and supports GP’s). Patients were randomly selected.
Exclusion criteria
