Background summary
A cohort of infants born in an academic and nonacademic center will be followed up for 3 years. The prevalence of GI-symptoms as well as constipation will be evaluated and compared between those who were preterm born and those who were term born.
Study objective
Preterm born infants have more gastrointestinal symptoms such as constipation.
Study design
2,6, 12, 24 and 36 months.
Intervention
None;
This is an observational study in which we follow infants up for up to 3 years after birth. At different time points parents will send us questionnaires back.

Inclusion criteria
All infants born between november 2006 and january 2007 in the Emma Children's Hospital and the OLVG in Amsterdam.
Exclusion criteria
Infants who undergo gastrointestinal surgery in the fist 2 weeks of life and/or suffer from metabolic disease.
