Suppression of sympathetic nerve activity.
Secondary outcome
The effect of statin on kidney function and PRA in hypertensive patients with CKD.

Study objective
The central hypothesis of this proposal is that statin therapy when added to chronic ARB treatment reduces sympathetic activity. Importantly, we study the addition to ARB therapy, because that mirrors everyday clinical practice.
Study design
10 weeks.
Intervention
Statins added to ARB or ACEi.

Inclusion criteria
Patients older than 18 years old with stable chronic kidney disease and hypertension are included in this project.
Exclusion criteria
Patients with diabetes mellitus, patients on renal replacement therapy, patients on antihypertensive medication (which cannot be stopped), patients on immunosuppressive treatment are excluded.
