Participation of children with a disability in mainstream education.
Study objective
The Dutch law "Passend Onderwijs" expects from every primary school to provide optimal learning opportunities for children with a disability. A pilot study with parents and professionals showed concern about the participation at school tasks, leisure time activities and self care. This study aims to ask the children about their experiences and their needs.
Study design
April-May 2013: Data collection;
May-June 2013: Data analysis.
Intervention
Qualitative research, phenomenological design, interviews with children.

Inclusion criteria
1. Child from 6-13 years;
2. Child participates at Dutch mainstraim primary education;
3. The school can have any didactical approach;
4. Child has a disability from "cluster 3: CP, DCD en SB or from cluster 4: ADHD, ADD, CD, ODD, ASD, Asperger Syndrome, Rett Syndrome, PDD, PDD-NOS en CDD";
5. Child can express himself in Dutch language.
Exclusion criteria
1. Child has a disability from "cluster 1 or 2: visual or hearing impairment";
2. Child has a mental health problem;
3. Child is partiicpating at SBO or special educaiton school.
