Background summary
The doppler-guided hemorrhoidal artery ligation is becoming a less painful alternative for hemorrhoidectomy. The costs play a role in the universal adoption of this procedure. In the initial experience the arteries seemed to be localized on standard positions. With ligations on these positions, the doppler could be omitted to decrease the costs and become a valuable alternative for hemorrhoidectomy.
Study objective
Standard localized ligations are as feasible as doppler-guided ligations of hemorrhoid arteries.
Intervention
Doppler-guided and standard localized hemorrhoidal artery ligation.
