Outcome measures
Primary outcome
The development of normal values for exercise tolerance and echocardiographic
parameters in healthy schoolchildren, 12-18 years old.
Secondary outcome
Heart rate and blood pressure increases during exercise
Background summary
The department of pediatric cardiology frequently performs studies among
patients. It is essential to compare results with normal values in a healthy
population. However, both normal values about exercise tolerance as assessed by
means of bicycle ergometry and newly developed echocardiographic parameters are
lacking. The aim of the present study is therefore to develop such normal
values
Study objective
To assess normal values of echocardiographic parameters and exercise tolerance
as asssessed by bicycle ergometry in healty schoolchildren 12-18 years old.
