Background summary
Constipation is a collection of symptoms which can be appear in different
composition and measures, such as hard stool faeces, abdominal pain, varying in
composition and intensity, nausea, vomiting and even malnutrition and
confusion. The sooner the treatment will start, the less radical measures will
have to be taken.
Study objective
The effectivity of a standard preventing constipation and treatment list,
designed by the hospital nutritionteam, will show that neurological patients
during their stay in the hospital develop less constipation.
Study design
a single-blinded randomized cohort study
Intervention
Group one will be treated according the laxative list developed by the MCL
nutrition team.
group two will be treated according the standard laxative list developed by
the neurological doctor.
