Secondary outcome

Background summary
There has been increasing attention for hearing damage caused by loud music
exposure in children and adolescents. This is mainly based on self-reported
questionnaire data on music exposure. To ascertain the quality and reliability
of these studies, a validated questionnaire is needed.
Study objective
To validate a questionnaire assessing music-listening behavior among children
and adolescents aged 12 to 18 years.
Study design
Observational study among secondary school students.
Study burden and risks
The current study is an nontherapeutic, observational study with simple,
noninvasive measurements that are considered safe, and therefore a negligible
risk for the participants. The burden for participants is minimal, demanding
little time (30 minutes at maximum) of the participants.
