The primary objective of this project is the development of an VR agression assessment (VRAA) with a high ecological validity, existing of VR scenario's. Furthermore the psychometrical characteristics will be explored.

Outcome measures
Primary outcome
In this study we define VR-scripts with different levels of
frustration/provocation and measuring the effect of these levels
(within-variable) on different outcome parameters. Furthermore we determin
correlations between de outcome parameters of VRAA and de scores on much used
agression questionairres. The outcomemeasure in the VRAA are: hartrate,
hartritm varibility, repiration, skinconductance, approach/avoidance in VR,
looking direction in VR, measurement of hand movements in VR, verbal agression,
prosody, subjective experiences with help of questionairres.

Background summary
Present instrument for measuring reactive agression, like the Point
Substraction Paradigm (PSAP) and the Taylor Agression Paradigm (TAP), have a
limited ecological validity; They are limited comparable with situations of
every day life. Besides, the test-retest reliability is low; therefore the
present test are not usable for research to (medicinal) interventions or
alcohol and drugs. Present instruments exist mostly out of self-evaluation and
(limited) behavioural observations, while there are also other relevant
parameters such as physiology, self-evaluation based on direct experienced
situations, and verbal observations. Therefore we would like to develop and
validate a measuring instrument to overcome the limits of present
agressiontests with help of realistic virtual reality (VR) scenarions in
combination with behaviroural, physiological and linguistic measurements of
agression.
Study objective
The primary objective of this project is the development of an VR agression
assessment (VRAA) with a high ecological validity, existing of VR scenario's.
Furthermore the psychometrical characteristics will be explored.
Study design
This is an pilot-study in where Virtual Reality Agression Assessment will be
developed and compared with existing tests of agression.

Inclusion criteria
Male participants (18-55) will be included with an average or hight tendency for agressive behaviour. This will be operationalized with a score of at least 5 on the Social Dysfunction and Agression Scale (SDAS).
Exclusion criteria
- Current psychotic disorder
- IQ < 70
