Outcome measures
Primary outcome
Ankle-brachial index (ABI), toe pressure and maximal systolic acceleration (ACC
max).
Secondary outcome
Niet van toepassing.
Background summary
In patients with non-compressible arteries, the ankle-brachial index and toe
pressure are regularly false high or false normal. This is a problem in the
non-invasive diagnostics of peripheral arterial disease. By making use of the
echo-Duplex hemodynamic aspects can be measured in an artery, including the
maximal systolic acceleration (ACCmax).
Study objective
Demonstrate an association between the ACCmax and ankle-brachial index (and toe
pressure) at different degrees of arterial stenosis.
Study design
Experimental cohort study without blinding.
Study burden and risks
Niet van toepassing.
