Achtergrond van het onderzoek
Rationale: Sacroiliac joint dysfunction is increasingly being recognized as a potential cause of chronic low back or buttock pain. Non-surgical therapies have shown limited effectiveness when it comes to durability. Minimally invasive sacroiliac joint fusion systems are now available and could potentially have better outcomes in pain, disability and quality of life. Further research is needed to evaluate the effectiveness of minimally invasive sacroiliac joint fusion.
Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of minimally invasive sacroiliac joint fusion in patients suffering from sacroiliac joint dysfunction.
Study design: Multi-center prospective (and retrospective) cohort study
Study population: Adult patients who received MISJF for SIJ dysfunction were eligible for inclusion
Intervention: Minimally invasive sacroiliac joint fusion
Main study parameters/endpoints: Pain, disability and health-related quality of life.
