Achtergrond van het onderzoek
In the common society the incidence of work-related upper extremity’s musculoskeletal disorders is increasing. Opsteegh et al. developed a questionnaire as a risk assessment for the workload of the upper extremities, the UEWD. The aim of this study is to analyse the construct validity of the UEWD and confirm the test retest reliability trough an observational study. The study population will be 50 working people > 18 year that are capable of understanding the questionnaire. The UEWD will be compared with other questionnaires, the posture subscale of the MUEQ and the physical subscale of the SF-36, and an observation method, the RULA. The participants will fill in the questionnaires and they will be (video) observed. After 1-3 weeks they will fill in the UEWD for the second time. The observer will rate the video with the RULA scoring sheet. After all the data is gathered, we will determine the construct validity with pre-defined hypothesis and we will calculate the Pearson correlation coefficient between the UEWD and the SF-36, the MUEQ and RULA score. The re-test reliability will be tested with a paired t-test, the SDC and the ICC agreement.
Doel van het onderzoek
Because of the increasing incidence of work-related musculoskeletal disorders of the upper extremities, the UEWD questionnaire was developed as a riskassessment that takes less time and less expenses then an observation.
The aim of this study is to analyse the psychometric properties of the UEWD, specifically the construct validity of the UEWD and the test retest reliability
Onderzoeksopzet
UEWD score, MUEQ posture subscale score and the SF-36 physical subscale score through a questionnaire and RULA score through observation at the same time.
1-3 weeks later the second UEWD score through a questionnaire.
