Primaire uitkomstmaten
Treatment outcome as measured with a self-report measure of severity of psychopathology (Symtoms Questionnaire-48)
Achtergrond van het onderzoek
Measuring outcomes routinely (ROM), providing feedback to therapist and patients during treatment and taking decisions regarding the treatment conjointly (Shared Decision making or SDM) may enhance the outcome and diminish the chance of failure. It is hypothesized that optimized ROM (more frequent intermediate assessments via the Feedback Informed Treatment or FIT method) and proper training of therapists in how to employ the information therapeutically in SDM, will enhance treatment results and patients’ experience.
Study design: A stratified cluster randomized controlled intervention study
Study population: Patients in treatment for common mental health problems, such as depression and anxiety
Intervention: 24 therapist will be randomised over two arms: 12 therapists will receive training and supervision over 14 treated patients, 12 other therapists wil be the Treatment As Usual (TAU) control group.
