The use of nurse practitioners instead of medical interns will result in a better, more consistent and more continuous care.
January 2008, a baseline-measurement will be done. The same measurement will be done 12 months later and results will be compared.<br>
This measurement consists of the following items:<br>
1. a patient poll (VAS-scale, approximately 30 questions) regarding their perception of the care they received during their stay;<br>
2. a poll among general practitioners in the region;<br>
3. measurement of faulty prescriptions in the hospital pharmacy;<br>
4. measurement of the average time patients reside in the hospital.

Onderzoeksproduct en/of interventie
(Medical) treatment of cardiological patients will be done by a nurse practitioner instead of a medical intern or PhD student. The control group will stil receive their care from a medical intern. Both groups have a supervising physician.
