The provided information could be helpfull in the development of strategies to prevent a further decrease and promote an increase of the social network of persons with aphasia.

People with aphasia have problems with communicating. Because communication is very important in the society, these group suffers from a smaller social network, diminished social participation and as a result of this, loneliness, a loss of autonomy, role changes, additional reliance on family members and depression.
To prevent a further decrease of the size of the social network and promote an increase, it is important to investigate the current social network of people with aphasia and characteristics of their favorite communication partners.
