Achtergrond van het onderzoek
In the Netherlands, about 17.000 persons fracture their hip after a fall each year' A substantial number of patients, mainly the more vulnerable ones, do not recover to their pre- fracture functional status. Furthermore, about one out of four patients die within one year after the fracture.
Determining which factors are of prognostic value for the rehabilitation after hip fractures can help to predict treatment outcomes and aid in the development of multidisciplinary treatment strategies and future good practice outpatient care pathways. These include information on patient-related factors, healthcare use, pre-fracture status and caregiver-related factors such as caregiver burden and quality of life.
Doel van het onderzoek
