Healthy living in Northern Wijchen (In Dutch: Gezond Leven in Noord Wijchen - Vragenlijstonderzoek met ouders in de wijk)

Evaluation research on differences in health outcome indicators in the health project period 2017-2019. The community-based project aims to improve self-perceived health and to reduce overweight of parents and children in the Northern part of Wijchen. The project interventions target determinants of health: the physical environment, social relations, physical activity and nutrition.

Health outcome indicators of parents and children in Northern Wijchen have improved in the period 2017-2019.

Measurements with parents in the periods:
2017: March 6 maart - May 18
2018: March 6 - April 30
2019: March 21 - May 20 (ongoing at the moment of submitting this trial)

The integral health approach consisted of ten SMART goals, operationalised in workplans. Professionals and parents collaborated in setting goals and formed workgroups to execute the plans. The ten plans can be clustered in aiming at 1) improving the child-friendliness of the neighbourhood 2) improving the accessibility and use of existing offer of health enhancing activities and 3) enhancing skills.
