Achtergrond van het onderzoek
To assess the frequency and outcomes of presenting complaints, and to assess if the association between presenting complaint and relevant clinical outcomes (Hospitalization, hospital LOS, in-hospital mortality, Declared costs) is different among age categories (0-18, 19-50, 51-65, 66-80 and >80 years), Furthermore this study is to asses if frequency and outcomes (Hospitalization, hospital LOS, in-hospital mortality, Declared costs) of presenting complaints are different among EDs in the Netherlands, and to assess if the association between presenting complaints and relevant clinical outcomes is different among EDs.
Doel van het onderzoek
Presenting complaints have an different distribution among hospitals and age and there are differences in the association with relevant clinical outcomes between hospitals.
Onderzoeksopzet
Every 6 months from now until 2023 a download with ED-visit information from the participating hospitals will be added to the NEED and used for statistic analysis, e.g. logisitic regression, for reporting in subsequent scientific papers.
