Achtergrond van het onderzoek
The ReSpAct study is developed to evaluate the exercise and sports participation, perceived health and care consumption & costs, among people with a physical disability or chronic disease, who participate in an exercise and sports promotion program. The program is offered directly after the rehabilitation period. Participants receive person-tailored counseling from the rehabilitation center or hospital.
The ReSpAct study is an observational multi-centre study in rehabilitation centers and hospitals in The Netherlands.

Especially, just after an inpatient or outpatient rehabilitation period, these persons have difficulty to become physically active or to maintain an active lifestyle at home. Within this study an exercise and sports promotion program will be evaluated, with a special focus on the underlying mechanisms of the program and the costeffectiveness of the program.
