Postoperative monitoring at home using a wearable and tele-visiting after bariatric surgery

In a feasibility study the use of a wearable, app, and tele-visiting is assessed for postoperative monitoring at home in a bariatric surgery cohort. Vitals signs will be monitored three days postoperatively and discussed with the patient via video-consulting.

Monitoring patients at home using ThuisVisite (measurements of vital signs using a wearable and a videoconsult) is feasible and safe.

- time of videoconsults on day 1,2 and 3

- patient satisfaction (PSQ18-NL) at 2 weeks

- at 30 days: complications, readmissions, hospital stay, ED-visits

Patients will use "Thuisvisite" during three days at home. Thuisvisite is a new program, as explained here: Patients measure their vital signs using the checkme pro three times a day and send these parameters to the app (clinicards). They also record their painscore 3 times a day in the app. One time a day patients receive a videocall from their doctor, who will monitor and evaluate the vital signs and discuss these with the patients.
