Mental well-being as measured by the Mental Health Continuum-Short Form (MHC-SF).
Achtergrond van het onderzoek
The corona crisis has a negative impact on the mental well-being of the Dutch population. Gratitude exercises, in which conscious attention and appreciation is given to positive aspects of one's own life, can contribute to strengthening mental well-being and reducing mild and moderate psychological complaints. A recent study showed large lasting effects of a six-week gratitude intervention on well-being in people with reduced well-being and psychological complaints at the start. This gratitude intervention is now converted into an app and the current RCT will investigate the effectiveness of the use of this app on mental well-being in people who are negatively impacted by the corona crisis, compared to a waiting list control condition. The participants in the waiting list control group receive the intervention after the post-test (T1).
