Achtergrond van het onderzoek
Radical radiochemotherapy for patients with muscle-invasive bladder cancer is becoming accepted as a viable treatment option with good long-term outcomes. In order to increase precision and limit normal tissue damage, image guided radiotherapy will be a major benefit. Fiducial markers increased the accuracy, however the biggest disadvantage of currently available fiducial markers is the blurring and fading of the markers. BioXmark showed promising results in preclinical studies, regarding quality and stability. This study evaluates the safety and effectiveness of the novel liquid Bioxmark marker for image guided radiotherapy in bladder cancer.

Markers will be implanted prior to start of (C)RT, control CBCTs will be made daily during (C)RT

Belangrijkste voorwaarden om deel te mogen nemen (Inclusiecriteria)
• Patients with histologically proven primary bladder cancer
• Referred for bladder conserving (chemo-)radiotherapy
Belangrijkste redenen om niet deel te kunnen nemen (Exclusiecriteria)
• Any contraindication for an cystoscopic procedure
• Pregnant women
• Age < 18 years
